FAQs for Restaurants

Common questions for restaurants and dine-in venues - booking, floor, till, features, tiers, and setup.

Restaurant

Yes. Delivery and collection are built in. Time slots, postcode or mileage areas, delivery cost by zone. Turn it on when you need it.
No. Your team uses dedicated web interfaces under /staff—cashier, kitchen, bar, driver, and (on Professional) waiter. Each user gets their primary interface after login; screens use live polling so queues update without manual refresh. It is the same orders and menu as your website and admin—no separate POS licence from us. Add a receipt printer and optional cash drawer; optional PIN, IP allowlisting, and shift checks when enabled. An operations activity log helps cashiers and managers see what changed during service.
Optional Voice AI can take bookings and orders by phone and send payment links where you use them. It is an add-on on Lite and Professional; see FAQs on the site for current platform and usage pricing.
Yes. Card and cash at the till are supported on the same plan; you record cash and reconcile as your workflow needs.
It is a single timeline of meaningful order and service events—new and progressing orders, status changes, and milestones from kitchen, bar, till, driver, and (where relevant) waiter/table context, plus channel context (web, QR, till, voice, etc.) where the system records it. Cashiers use it from /staff/activity-log during service; waiters see the same style of feed for floor awareness; managers use Orders → Staff activity log in /admin for filters and audit-style lists. It complements your role-specific queues (kitchen screen, driver list) and only shows what the application is instrumented to record.
Book a short discovery call. We'll show you the platform and match you to a plan. No commitment until you're ready.

Restaurant / Professional

Booking confirmations, order updates, and similar emails are part of the product. For emails to reach customers reliably, you connect a business email sending service-we’ll suggest a simple option; you open it in your name. If you don’t want to connect it yourself, we offer setup help for a one-off fee.
With the optional Voice AI add-on (on Lite or Professional), callers can book, order, and receive links by phone. It can recognise existing customers and create records for new callers, depending on your settings and how you handle consent.
Yes-card and cash at the till on the same monthly plan.

Table booking

Guests choose date, party size, and time (and sometimes a table, if you use layouts). You set availability, deposits, and rules. Confirmations and reminders use the email service you connect.
Table booking is included on Professional. It is not part of Lite.
Yes-you choose per branch whether deposits apply and how much. Payments use your Stripe or Revolut connection.
Guests can change or cancel within the rules you set.

Pre-order for booking

Guests with a booking can order food or drinks before they arrive, up to a cut-off time you choose-the same menu and offers as your main site where you enable them.
You choose how long before service pre-orders close-for example X hours before the booking.

QR at-table ordering

Guests scan a QR code at the table, browse the menu, and order; orders go to kitchen and bar like any other order. This is part of Professional.
No-guests can order without an account. Accounts are optional.

Memberships

You can offer membership levels per branch (for example discounts or special booking rules) and assign them to customers in your admin. Available on Lite and Professional.
You can set that up per membership level-we’ll show you on a demo.

Combined tables & events

Floor and table tools for larger parties are part of Professional. We can show you the current screen flow on a demo.
Ticketed or paid events (supper clubs, tastings, etc.) are a Professional feature-not Lite. Large groups with many venues may get custom packages-ask us.

Till, devices & payments

Till on Windows or Linux; kitchen, bar, waiter, driver in a browser on phones, tablets, or PCs (Android / iOS fine). Use your own receipt printers and drawers where needed-card and cash are both on the same plan, with no extra “cash tier” on the website.

Staff (waiter, kitchen, bar, till)

Yes-staff sign in with a personal QR code so shared devices don’t need shared passwords.
Waiters see table status, service steps, and payment links where you use them-on Professional.
Yes-food and bar queues are separate views, one system underneath.
Rotas are on Professional only-not Lite. If you only need Lite, tell us if you still need rota-style planning.
Optional stricter login rules (network or shift-based) are available-we’ll advise what suits you.

Branches & tiers

One site is included on Lite and Professional. Each extra site is typically £89/month (ex VAT) unless you have a custom Enterprise agreement.
Lite can suit a delivery-focused site without booking, floor, rotas, or events in the product. Most dine-in restaurants choose Professional.
Multi-site groups get tailored pricing and rollout-contact us.

Voice AI

Optional on Lite or Professional: an AI assistant for phone orders, menu and opening questions, and table bookings. It can recognise returning callers and create customer records for new ones (depending on your settings). £149/month platform fee (ex VAT) plus call minutes-we confirm in your quote.
No. Older “only on premium” wording does not apply-you can add Voice AI on Lite or Professional.

Invoices, discounts & tax

You get invoice-style views, VAT and tips where relevant, discounts, and promo codes. We walk through details on a demo.

Hosting & setup

Yes-hosting, SSL, backups, and monitoring are included in your monthly fee on Lite and Professional, in line with the figures we publish and quote.
Yes-you keep your domain. We help you point it to your VoiceMenu site.

General

Guests and staff normally use the website. A branded iPhone and Android app is optional-we quote it if you want it.
Online card payments use Stripe or Revolut Business under your account. Cash at the till is on the same plan-no separate “cash tier” on the website.
Yes-typically £89/month (ex VAT) per extra site.
We use straightforward list pricing and longer commitments save money (10% / 20% / 30% off the monthly equivalent for 12 / 24 / 36 months). Prices on the site and in quotes are ex VAT unless we say otherwise.
